I have read. And the thing is if the whole bible was the word of God I would accept. But man (Emperor Constantine and his click of scribes in the Roman Government) put together this many books within this bible and they changed many words to fit their agenda. I accept the original teachings of Jesus and the original Gospel of the Nazirenes. But not mans interpretation. I understand you would feel this way being that is the only book you know so you will accept these quotes because they have made you think it is the ONLY one. But frankly it is not. Try reading other Gospels and see for yourself. Many can plainly see that most Christians don't know the real history of their bible and where it all came from. Certainly not all from God. Though much of it is. If it hadn't been changed so much I wouldn't had seeked out the Absolute Truth and found it. So I thank God that He led me to the Absolute Truth. Bhagad Gita As it is By Bhaktivedanta Prabhupada and to Jesues original Teachings The Gospel of The Nazirnes. By The way Your God is my God. Hallelujah, Hare Krishna, Allah Akbar God is ONE.

Many do no read the bible and then there are those that skim it looking for what they consider to me contradiction and do not read the entire context but only a verse to serve their purpose. Knowledge of interpretation of scripture is not given to those that seek to mock and persecute God's word. On the other hand, there is much in the Bible that is also laid out plain and simple if only they read. Many make the CHOICE, without having ever seriously looking at and reading God's word, to not believe, mock and persicute, and hence prove their own ignorance by trying to make arguements that are easily and simply written in God's word!

Read the prodigal son parable over minus the ideas that you have been told about it.
Instead of reading it as a story about forgiveness, which is never mentioned or inferred in any way, Read the actual words that Jesus used.
Notice that the Father never judged the son in any way.
What do you assume that Jesus was trying to teach us about God by telling this story?
Think about it and let me know what you decide.
Love and blessings Don

I've read the Bible, and had questions.
So are you saying that we should just go on not understanding rather than ask 'silly questions'?
If Christians want us to read the Bible and accept it as the 'Word of God', they should be willing to answer our 'silly questions', shouldn't they? To guide us or help us understand?

i don't know y there r so many things or questions r being said or asked about God. But what i do know is dat they all need to read the living word, the bread of life because without Christ Jesus in our lives, we are NOTHING. That's y he died for our sins, mine, and urs.

People ask questions about the Bible here because this is the R&S section. Therefore, it's ok to ask questions about the Bible, because some people know more than others about it.
ps. You need to lay off the caps lock. It comes off as yelling.

I have read the bible, but your question makes me wonder if you have.
Did you read all of it? The contradictory parts?
The part where god kills children and tells women not to speak in public?
The part where god has to do a "do-over" and kills everyone by flooding the world because he messed up the first time?
The two creation stories, the two flood stories?
Did you understand what you read?
I did.

Honest responses only? Okay, here's an honest response: Jesus is a fictional character, which you'd know if you bothered to research the history of christianity.

Did a historical Jesus exist?
http://www.nobeliefs.com/exist.htm
[Excerpt]
ALL CLAIMS OF JESUS DERIVE FROM HEARSAY ACCOUNTS
No one has the slightest physical evidence to support a historical Jesus; no artifacts, dwelling, works of carpentry, or self-written manuscripts. All claims about Jesus derive from writings of other people. There occurs no contemporary Roman record that shows Pontius Pilate executing a man named Jesus. Devastating to historians, there occurs not a single contemporary writing that mentions Jesus. All documents about Jesus got written well after the life of the alleged Jesus from either: unknown authors, people who had never met an earthly Jesus, or from fraudulent, mythical or allegorical writings. Although one can argue that many of these writings come from fraud or interpolations, I will use the information and dates to show that even if these sources did not come from interpolations, they could still not serve as reliable evidence for a historical Jesus, simply because all sources derive from hearsay accounts.
Hearsay means information derived from other people rather than on a witness' own knowledge.
Courts of law do not generally allow hearsay as testimony, and nor does honest modern scholarship. Hearsay provides no proof or good evidence, and therefore, we should dismiss it.
