You don't just answer random questions about military camps in iraq, you dont know if that person is a terrorist or not. I'm in the ARMY and i'm just looking out for the safty of "legal" american citizens.
P.S
I still want an answer to my question.

Most civilians have no concept of OPSEC, most of those you are referring to are googling OPSEC now to see what I am talking about.
We have stopped keeping secrets in this country because the press has the right to let the people know.

Had it been up to me every one of the classified statements or programs that have been printed in the press (or in Yahoo Answers) would have resulted in a prison term for someone.

Almost every base in Iraq has not only military and US Civilians, but local employees and truck drivers who enter the base. The insurgents have plenty of sources for their info, so I doubt they're trolling through Y!A trying to get detailed information.

As a member of the Army you should know what is, and what isnt, a violation of Operation Security. If there was a violation of OpSec here on Y!A, Im farely confident there are enough service members on here to report these violations and have the question pulled before it can do any harm..
Apart from posting maps, locations, and common military practices/schedules/call-signs, there isnt much you can post that is a violation of OpSec.
If you do see something that you feel is a violation of OpSec, report it to Y!A and Im sure they will delete the post. But be sure it is an actual violation before you go crying wolf.

We are in a Police Action and a Police Action is run by civilian politicians. They don't intend to win a military victory. They plan on winning political advantage. Your safety is secondary to scoring media/political points. They will give you up in a minute if it means more votes or money for their bureaucracy . You think it is bad now--vote for ol' Hil Baby and you will see the Army as her PMS troops!!! USMC 60-68

I feel as though a civilian that puts lives at risk should be treated as the scum they are. Not only do i feel, but i have detained many civilians in the box for simmilar things. Lots are "reporters". Sometimes, it seems like the enemy is all around you...

they want 10 points??
they want to seem to be important know-it-alls??
they want to be big shots??

hmm, I would think that if someone would need to know about a base in a theater of operations, they would know enough to ask an intelligent government entity, not the brain surgeons on Yahoo Answers!!

ps. - thank you for your service!!
