Well you should try to find a responsible teenager with CPR experience and I say 70 to 80 dollars is fine in my book. 150.oo is way to much money I think. Hello thinking that she is your brothers girlfriend I would think that she would be more understanding. Shame on her I would do it for free if you were family but hey that's just me (OK maybe not for free) but for Pizza hut or dominoes and a couple of movies. Far more reasonable than what she is pricing you. I say find a teenager like I said make sure you have some snacks for her and your child and something fun for them to do. I think its horrible that she is doing this to you shame on her.

That is way to high. The price for babysitting per hour usually doubles New Year's eve, just like the price of everything else does. I wouldn't pay more then about 15.00 an hour. I am sure you aren't going to be partying for 10 hours! Sounds like she is overpricing because she knows she can. Try to find someone else to watch your child if she won't come down on her price...maybe onces she realizes it would be better to get say $75 dollars then none at all she will work with you.

Have fun.

My rate is usually $5-7 an hour. I guess it would double to $10-14 an hour. People are probably out for five hours or so, that would make it $50-70 for the whole night. Yeah, I think she is definatly overpricing you. And you guys are family! What a shame. Go for another babysitter though.

That is a little high! Even for a holiday. When my husband and I typically go out for 3-4 hours we pay $40. How long is she watching them. If she was watching two other children, how much attention is she going to be able to pay to your child.

you do have to pay a premium on new years eve for a responsible person to watch your kids. $150 sounds like alot....but if that's the going rate in your community...you have to pay. i have paid $ 60-80 several times depending on how long i was gone. the thing is......someone who misses new years to babysit wants to be compensated....but compensate them fairly. $150 sounds like gouging to me.

Stay home.....safer anyway.....you will pay it if you want to go out that bad....if you pay her $15.00 an hour x 10 hours =$150.00.......will you party that long...then it is worth it, especillay if your child will be in his own home.

Depending on the child{s} age in my area it's running from $75.00 to $200.00. Starting at 7PM until 2 AM.
