I have a 9 month old lab/shepherd mix who chews up toys very quickly... she can't have anything that is made of cloth as its destroyed within 5 minutes. She got 4 toys for christmas... a reindeer with a bottle inside of it (chewed threw the reindeer material in 15 minutes) "the most durable soft chew toy in the world" (or so they claimed... started ripping fuzz out by 5 minutes) and a vinal squeeky hot dog (had the end of the dog chewed off in 2 minutes).
When I go to a pet store she gets kong refills, ropes (which don't last too long) and latex squeeky toys. Are there any other good toys for agressive chewers?

She doesn't chew on anything but her toys... she just loves to chew her toys.

She has had a couple of tennis balls... however she chews the fuzz off of them so only the black rubber part is left... and heck no to dog tennis balls..they make such a mess because she tears the ball into little pieces. lol.

Take a look at planetdog.com. They have toys that are rated on their durability. My dogs, who also destroy toys in minutes, have never been able to destroy one of these. They are a little more expensive, but since they last so much longer, it really is worth it.

It is a challenge, I know. I have a 18# Boston Terrier that is an aggressive chewer too! I got the same reindeer with a bottle in it for her and same thing happened....She loves an empty water bottle to play with, so I stick with those! She will chew a sterilized bone that has the hallow part filled with a beef or peanut butter filling. She loves nylabones, and kongs.
I go to the thrift store to buy her stuffed toys. Be careful though. She does not eat the eyes, but you may have to watch your dog to make sure she doesn't.
Bully sticks are another great chew toy and very digestible. I get the one that is braided, it lasts longer! There is a toy that is made of fur, a squirrel, that has no stuffing in it, but has a squeaker. You can replace the squeaker when they break it! My dog loves this toy!

I have a lab and rope toys are a no no. He tears them apart and eats the rope. We use Nylabone (make sure you get the durable NOT the flexible). These last a very long time. We cant do stuffed animals or they will die terrible deaths within minutes. Also, petsmart sells some bones that are filled with mint or peanut butter and they last a very long time- they cant be tore up. The other thing I do is take old t-shirts and tie them in a knot and we play tug with them. They get tore up after a week or so but he carries them around and its ok if they get tore up because I would just throw them away otherwise. Good Luck!

Our dog is ten months old, and he is the same way. You barely give him a toy and it's missing some part of it within ten minutes. However, my father cut up an old leather belt he had lying around the house and our dog loves it. All he did was cut the belt lengthwise to create a thinner strip of leather; the ends of the strip were tied in knots, too. Our dog loves chewing on it and it has kept him very busy-it was obviously cheap and easy enough to come up with-AND it's the only thing he hasn't completely destroyed yet! Best of luck in your search for new toys...

They make toys for strong chewers, I would stick to rubber or hard plastic, I got this hard plastic ring from a pet store and my dog lost it before he could chew through it.
My dog was so funny with tennis balls, first he would defuzz them before he would play with em.

YOU CAN BUY TOYS NOW THAT ARE SPECIALLY MADE FOR BIG DOGS THAT DESTROY EVERYTHING. THEY ARE DOUBLE AND TRIPLE STICHED SO THEY WONT RIP AND MADE WITH A VERY STRONG MATERIAL. YOU MAY HAVE TO PAY MORE FOR THEM BUT ITS WORTH IT IF THEY ACTUALLY LAST A LONG TIME. THE KONG IS ONE GOOD EXAMPLE AND THERE ARE MANY DIFFERENT VARIATIONS. THE PET STORE WILL GIVE YOU MORE INFO OR SEARCH THE INTERNET. GO TO PET CETERA AND LOOK AT THE SELECTION. ALSO GET THEM A BIG BEEF BONE FROM THE MARKET THAT ARE SMOKED AND SPECIALLY MADE FOR BIG DOGS THEY ALSO LAST A LONG TIME.

Someone else said this, but I thought I'd elaborate. The Kong toys at pet stores are wonderful. They're just about indestructible to my lab/shepherd mix, and you can put treats in them to give your dog hours of fun. They're wonderful!

Ok this is gonna sound strange but I have a black lab and hes 110lbs (big boy lol). He wrips thru all of his toys in minutes. So I buy him a children's leather baseball glove like once every few months. It lasts awhile and he loves it!
So thats my suggestion =)
