how do i own copyright for software?
is it necessary to register????
or i could just add a dialog box displaying copyright

Technically it should be registered. But you can add a copyright statement and it still be legal.

Once you have finished with your software, take a copy of it with the copyright statement seal it in an envelope and mail to yourself. This will be dated with the postal stamp which will be proof of when you were finished writing the software. Keep this closed envelope in a safe place for proof in case at some future date there is a conflict of who owns the program.

To be fully legally protected you need to comply with standard copyright practices in any business in the country concerned.
