I bought this dog over the weekend and I can't find the breed name online. I was so lucky to get it too. It was the last one he had It was certain fate that brought our little shnookums to us in the grocery store parking lot saturday, almost like a christmas miracle. And only $800! My friend paid $1000 for her Goldendoodle, so what a deal!

I was hoping someone has more info on what sort of temperament they have. He seems to be a bit grumpy, and I want to know what is normal and what is 'new home jitters'?

You bought a mix breed or mutt as they are called. Some call them Designer Breeds. The problem with "designer Breeds" is there is no Breed standard, no way to tell you anything about how the dog will turn out. There is no way for you to know what kind of temperament this dog will have.

I assume a pitbudoodle is a cross of a pit bull terrier and a poodle. Because there is no standard and you don't even know what a pitbudoodle is...you could have bought anything. You have no way of even knowing if what they said is even the truth.

Either way...Enjoy your new puppy. I got a rottie pup for Christmas and we are having a great time with her

pitbull and poodle obviously. Mixed breeds are great. They usually combine the most appealing traits of each breed with a few benefits such as not drooling like the big dogs or shedding like the short hairs. Pitbulls and poodles are both energetic dogs. True pits get a bad rap as being mean, but that is completely controllable by how they are raised as with any dog. They are sweet, and loyal. Poodles are also typically energetic, but again crossbreeding and many other factors will ultimately determine the disposition of your pup.

The grumpiness and new home jitters should wear off after a few weeks. Just take it slow, be patient and enjoy your new friend.

Its a cross between a pit bull ( Am Staff or APBT) with a poodle .

$800 !!?? You've just been scammed . $800 on a mutt . Wow, and you could've paid $50 for one at your local shelter . What a waste of money . Especially if the breed is a mutt .
They're temperment is unknown . Its a mixed breed . Your not going to know the temperment of a mixed breed dog . The only way for you to find out is when it gets older . If it was me i wouldnt waste such money on a dog like that . Even purebreds ( real breeds ) cost less then that at a shelter or rescue .

A Pitbudoodle is going to be a pit bull terrier and a poodle....you can try to guess what base temperment the dog will have by researching both breeds but you will have more to do with it than anything-it depends on how well trained the dog is and how you take the postion of pack leader to it. Pits by nature have a very sweet loving attitude (despite what the media and pit haters want you to think) and Poodles are smart intelligent sometimes stubborn dogs but are highly trainable. Good firm-not abusive or harsh-training will help ensure you have a dog with a good attitude.

That is not a breed. It is a mutt and you can't really predict what the dog will be like, but to get your best guess, look up information on both breeds. Only $800? In a grocery store parking lot? Wow...sounds like you got ripped off when you could have gone to a shelter and rescued one for a whole lot cheaper.

Personally, I think you got jipped. A "pitbudoodle" is not a breed of dog. It is a mutt. It is a cross between a pitbull and a poodle. It is not a certified breed of dog; nor will it ever be certified as one as it is a mutt. I would not have paid $800 for a mutt, when I could find one at a shelter for around $60-$80.

Wow, you pay $800 for a mutt and calling it a bargain. I really don't understand about this. Mixed breeds don't have a trait of temperaments you can tell because some puppies in that litter have the mother's characteristics and some have the father's characteristics.

You cant find the breed because it is not a breed.....it's a mutt. Judging by the name, it's a Pit Bull/ Poodle mix and you were SERIOUSLY overcharged for it. People who breed these kinds of mutts tend to produce sickly animals with poor temperments.

To get a pseudo-clear understanding of how this dog is going to be, research both Poodles and Pit Bulls. Assume that your dog will have the best and worst qualities of both breeds. You will also have to familiarize yourself with the exercise and grooming requirements, and breed specific needs of both breeds. With mutts, there is no way to guarentee specifics.

A pit mixed with a poodle...what an odd looking dog that must be.

There is no such "breed" as a pitbudoodle. You paid $800 for a mutt, that is most likely a cross between a Pitbull (American Staffordshire Terrier) and a Poodle.
