Come on... Listen to Mozart, Beethoven, or U2 or the Beatles. See the art of Leonardo Da Vinci or Rembrandt or any other top rated artist, there are thousands, read some poetry, or a book, watch a movie, look at the architecture and buildings in Rome or Paris or Madrid, visit a Museum of Fine Art....Humans are so far ahead of other animals....we have even landed on the MOON!!!
Don't you think humans are different than your house dog or house cat??????
Dont you think we are created in the image of a very intelligent designer? Or do you think we miracously evolved from a monkey? What takes more faith?
Atheists, how do you expain the huge, exaggerated, enormous large gap between Human intelligence and other animals?
Please explain? or is Atheism a religion you must put faith in and can't explain?

spdesai7, tailbone? please do some research or look up "Spina bifida". Don't just be atheist because is popular in society today, do some research for yourself. Also, I don't agree with popular Christianity. I read the Bible and I only see Jehovah's Witnesses following the word of the Bible, word by word. All other Christians are making everyone else an Atheist with their Trinity God's and burning Hell threats.

shazam , No , I just mention them because they are popular. I think each individual human is capable of 1st. apreciating talent and 2, creating beautiful things, wether is art, music or writting or any other type of intellectual ability. Each of us have a talent that is beyond that of any animal by a billion years.

shazam, I know that you have a talent and intelligence that will prove a creator exists. Wisdom is another story. You can be talented but you can be unwise.
If you where wise you would believe in God.

I think you might want to consider that the supreme being you are referring to also created Monkeys, Dogs, Cats and other animals, plants, rocks, gases etc.
While the basis of your argument may seem wise, you need to understand theology and how faith affects human nature. It's not all about intelligent design.
In the world over there are about 17 main religious type segments. Religions like Christianity, with over 2 billion followers, Islamics, with about 1 1/2 billion, Juadism (14 million) and Bahá'í Faith (7 million) all fall under the Abrahamic religions category. As you can see, well over half of the world's population follows one of these religions and if you have the time to study this, you'll notice that Intelligent Design isn't the driving force.
Looking deeper into Indian Faiths like Hinduism, Buddhism, Sikhism and Jainism where about 1 1/2 billion followers are, the development of humans is quite different.
So in conclusion you need to look closer at all beings and living things on earth, as well s the universe and planet itself before you make such a broad statement.

If mankind is the product of an intelligent designer, that designer has some very serious flaws that need to be ironed out. Maybe a focus group of intelligent designers could get together and re-think this creation called 'MAN'. What a wonderful creation the designer made, it excels itself at creating more wonderous ways of killing and bringing barbaric acts upon itself and all the other creatures that have to share this world with it.
Will you people please take your heads out of the sand and try and logically think through this stuff, without bringing religous hocus pocus and the corrupted words of people who wrote a book that everybody must follow in order to feel better.
Just because Mankind landed on the moon, wrote great music, painted fanatstic works of art etc.. does not mean that there is a god that designed us all.

You named some very positive stuff here about humans.
Now what about the negative!!
How many people though out know time have been enslaved, starved, killed by war, abused as a child, maimed by war or acts of rage and still to today these thing happen, so are you saying this kind of stuff is also from that very intelligent designer.
How is it that for such intelligent creators we are in some ways more cruel than other animals on this planet.

Nope.
We've got the benefit of language and the ability to reason. We also aren't preoccupied with survival all the time, a lot of our basic needs are taken care of thanks to technology.
As a result, we can do things that other animals are unable to do, and over time these things have built upon themselves piece by piece into the wonders of technology we enjoy today.
Humans are definitely animals, we share a great deal with other animals on earth. We've just managed to get ahead of the game by virtue of our intelligence.
Too many stupid or goofy things in nature exist to make "intelligent design" worth mentioning, let alone accepting as a legitimate theory. Look at the three-toed sloth, look at genetic abnormalities that cause people to be born without arms and legs, look at toejam.

The fact that Mozart made nice music and Rembrandt painted nice paintings doesn't prove the existence of a god.
Human beings are higher in intelligence than dogs, but dogs are higher in intelligence than cockroaches. That's science and the way the world works. A species is always going to be at the top of the chain, and we're it. But in a lot of ways we're not that different... Humans and dogs have many of the same body parts, mothers suckle their young, babies are made through sexual intercourse, and so on and so on...
Besides, humans didn't "come from monkeys." That phrase is one that almost always comes from someone who didn't pay attention in science class or was homeschooled. It's called common ancestry.
You put your faith in a magical fairy in the sky, and some people choose not to because it doesn't make any sense. Calm down, and accept that some people are different than you.

We're ahead of the other animals in some areas... tho cheetahs kinds kick our asses in running.... and I have to admit that marlins are quite good swimmers... oh, and I can't lift nearly as much as an elephant...
Well, we're pretty much more intelligent... in being inelligent. I can do equations in my head, but analyzing grazing patterns to know where to look for prey tends to go over my head ;)
Yes, humans differ from pets. Our frontlimbs are specialized as grabbing instruments.
I still say that;
"Invisible sky-daddy did it"
is less credible than
"It followed the laws of nature".
Humans have developed good brains to offset how we pretty much suck at everything else. It's the single advantage we have, and nature tends to exaggerate advantages.

Of course humans are different than your house dog or cat. If thats what ministers are teaching you atheists think, well its no wonder you prefer ignorance.
Humans evolved and it turns out intelligence was good for survival. So they became smarter. Dogs on the other hand still howl at the moon much like religious folks sing in a church to a cross. Oh well, now you have to ask why religious folks are so much like dogs and cats.

There is no so called huge, exaggerated enormous gap between human intelligence and other animals. That gap is filled by Christian fundamentalists. Dogs observe their surrounds and learn--christian fundamentalists observe their surrounds and modify the facts to fit. Which is more intelligent lol.

Yes, I think humans are different than dogs and cats.
That doesn't mean that we're created by an intelligent designer, though. We didn't "miraculously evolve from a monkey." We evolved from pro-hominids through mutations spread out over millions of generations. There's nothing miraculous about that, and it doesn't really require any faith if you understand evolution.
I explain the intelligence gap by our highly developed neocortex, which evolved over time. It give us our reasoning and language abilities.
You don't need faith when things are explainable.

Did you ever go to the zoo and watch bonobos, gorillas or chimpanzees for a few hours?
Do so, and you'll lose some of your human arrogance.
Stupid bacteria keep killing humans depite the discovery of antibiotics. Antibiotics are by the way an invention by certain fungi not humans.
By the way, your dog thinks you have a terribly bad sense of smell and don't really know anything in this world except how to operate a can opener. He concedes that that's a really useful skill though.
