You don't need oil. That's like adding sugar to honey. Start them out on medium low and stir them around a little and they'll create their own grease.

If you are referring to links, I put about 1/4" of water in the fry pan and cover for about 5 minutes. Then pour off the water and fry until done. Most sausage has enough of it's own oil to cook without adding any.

Sausage is loaded with fat...why would you add oil to the pan? I put the sausages in the pan and fill it about half way up the sides of the sausages with water and simmer it, turning the sausages occasionally, until the water is evaporated. I continue to cook them over medium heat until they're brown all over. That's for link sausages. If you mean sausage patties, you just fry them in a dry skillet until they're done. The fat in the sausage will keep it from sticking to the pan.

I never put oil in the pan, if you start the pan off low enough the fat will come out of the sausages soon enough, Either that or grill them or roast them in the oven with for half an hour mix up some panckae mix pour it on top and cook for another 20 mins

I don't buy frozen sausages - they are full of gunk and toe nails.

Besides - cooking from frozen is NOT such a good idea.

Oil and water does not mix - there for will not cook in the middle.

If you must use frozen - bake in the oven on a tray for 40 mins.

Happy New Year to you and yours....xxx

no you dot fry anything frozen or it may not cook properly and burn on the outside and be cold in the middle, you would defrost them in the microwave first, and because they are sausages and full of fat you dont need much oil at all so you'd only need about half a tablespoon.

use a non stick pan & you dont need to use any oil as there is plenty of fat in the meat already, just make sure the sausages are not allowed to burn. for best taste tho i prefer to grill my sausages, healthy & tastey.

You should defrost them first in either a microwave or by immersing in cold water.

You don't add any oil when you're cooking sausages as they're full of fat anyway. If you add oil they'll be swimming in grease after 5 minutes.........yuck!

Please be committed towards defrosting them though or you're risking food poisoning.

Only use the tiniest amount. Just cover it so there is a little bit everywhere on the pan, without any pools of oil.
