I have alot of experience with computers but one thing I have never done is use an mp3 player, My question is once I have my music downloaded onto my computer how do I go about getting the music downloaded to the mp3 player?? Please explain in detail,, Thanks Much, youir help is appreciated.

depending on the MP3 player - you either use a cable to connect it to the PC or it'll plug directly into the USB port. Once it's plugged in Windows should recognise it ( if it doesn't try switching the player on )
Once Windows has recognized it you go into My Computer and it should list the player as a removable storage device. Click on it to open it then just copy and paste your songs to it like it was a hard drive.

Just as Debi said, try to connect your Mp3 player, i assume it is a USB device. If your Mp3 player is plug and play it should appear in 'My Computer' as a removable drive. Depending on the download software you are using or just the ordinary download for windows.
Before download starts, there is an option of choosing where you want the download files to be saved, for example 'Removable Disk (F)or a name you have given the disk. You can change the destination of the files just as you move from my computer to my network places by clicking the arrow pointing downwards much like the one beside the 'go' button.
