You likely have more responsibility because your "real" supervisor knows how good you are.
This person is just irritating and all that matters is that the people who can have the biggest impact on your career know it.
I would also guess that you are not the only one she does this to. It could be the office joke.

I can completely understand I have been there too. IN fact in most workplaces there are at least one of those types. Anyways just let her think what she wants. Continue to do your job the best you can and your superiors will see that. They will all see and hear about your co-worker. I know how frustrating it can be to just ignore her/him but really what else can you do. If it does get out of hand then you might want to discuss things with your supervisor and get their opinion on how to handle things. The reason i suggest talking to your supervisor for his or her opinion is because this person probably wouldn't mind seeing you be gone that being sad if you tried to talk to this person yourself or handle it on your own things just might now go the way you think. With your supervisors opinion at least you would know your both on the same page.

Your work is your own. Here's how I've dealt with this in the past. At the end of each week, I gave my boss (my real boss) a status report of what I had worked on and what the status was. It would contain things in it like "received the XYZ from 'coworker name' so that I could finish the ABC project"... to show that I had some assistance from her, but it was my project.... or to show things like "QWE project on hold until blah blah blah is received from 'coworker name'" to show that she was holding me up on something. I would also show status on projects only I was working on, like "Got POI project done ahead of schedule and without assistance.".... You get the idea. Share the status report with your boss via email or hard copy (whatever works best), but there's no need to share it with your coworker. I didn't even tell my coworker I was doing it. She found out 6 months later when my boss told her to submit her project status items to me so that I could do a consolidated report. You may want to offer to your boss that you will be happy to do a status report to him/her for all projects in the department so that he can see what's making good progress and where the roadblocks are that may need his guidance or intervention. You don't have any responsibility to your coworker, but you do have responsibility to your supervisors. My guess is that they can see the real situation and see who's doing the good work, in which case you have nothing to worry about. If you feel they can't, then maybe it's time to find another job.

In these times it is not enough to let your work speak for itself. It is also unwise to ignore a co-worker who takes your glory and throws you the guts. I'd give the same answer as Twice as Nice.

Maybe she is, you need to check.
Perhaps you are just too slow to blow your own trumpet so she takes it from you and grabs the praise. It will be considered her credit unless you claim it first.
Grow up and become a bigger ego than she is and more ruthless too. Otherwise you are chicken feed.

Do not talk to her that much, unless you really have to for work related. keep the conversation short and brief.
Avoid her and keep doing a good job. Your work will prove that you are better than her.

i have the exact same thing going on where i work, even though it drives me crazy, for the most part i ignore it, but if it comes down to it you can bet i will not take responsibility for someone elses laziness and failure to do their job as well, i go to all of my superiors and let them know whats going on, they let me know, its cool we can see whats going on here too....hope that helps

You may not know this, but your boss knows what time of day it is. You may think that she is getting all the credit, but she may not be. As a manager myself, I know who does their job and who doesn't.

if you've got a supervisor like mine, it's easy to tell all things that're annoying. Better tell her face to face about how you feel about her rather that telling other people.... or just simply ignore her
