Well, when people lose weight quickly it might be because they're not eating enough or not eating the right things (i.e. they take pills, drink diet shakes and skip meals - all which will come back to haunt you in the end).
Once you see that those things are not working, all the weight comes back and sometimes comes back with additional weight added to it. That's really not good.
Another risk of losing weight is how your body actually reacts on the inside. Each time you lose weight, your internal organs must re-adjust themselves to carry out their metabolic duties with less weight. Instead of your heart pumping blood, your lungs inhaling and exhaling, your stomach digesting, etc. for 150 lbs, your body must "catch up" and start doing all those things for a body of 145 lbs. It sometimes takes days for the body to get used to the change. If you lose weight really fast, you can get sick.

well... i tried it on myself as well as heard about it.. when u lose weight fast, you tend to gain it even faster and even more.
basically when you lose weight you make an effort right? it's either sports or eating a lot less or both..
anyway, when you not let yourself eat as much as you want eventually you'll end up eating even more than you used to before the diet because you just can't take it anymore.. you know what's the worst part? is that your stomach will not be able to digest even half of what you eat because it will then be used to small ammounts of food..

basically its not healthy because if you lose weight fast you lose a lot of muscle.
and losing weight along with fat is bad when it comes to weight loss since muscle burns more calories than fat does. therefore, the more muscle you have the more calories you burn and this applies to when youre not doing anything strenuous. losing muscle is therefore not a good idea. another thing is when you lose weight fast you also slow down your metabolism which is definately not healthy.
