I made some spaghetti about 6:30-7 last night and forgot to put it up. I remembered it at 7 this morning. My kitchen is in a colder part of my house and it was covered. The broiler was pretty cold to the touch and so was the food. I put in the fridge. Is it any good or should i throw it away?

Thanks

I'd throw it out.

That totally depends on whether you are talking about cooked spaghetti noodles or spaghetti sauce or a combination of the two.

If you are just talking about the noodles, they should be fine. Just put a pot of water on stovetop and bring to a rapid boil. Rinse the noodles in a colander with warm water to separate; then toss in the noodles and let cook for a couple of minutes. The boiling water will kill any bacteria.

If you are talking about sauce (especially if it has meat in it, I'd toss it.

I think it would be fine, unless there was a sauce that had meat or something on it. Just the plain spaghetti would be okay I'd think.

Remember if in doubt throw it out. I wouldn't take a chance on eating it and getting sick. That's a long time to leave set out.:)

not even worth saving, for the $1 you will spend on a brand new box of spaghetti...... why risk a food borne illness....

It has probably gone all chewy and dry in parts so I would just chuck it in the bin for that reason.

The pasta will be OK, meat sauce should go in the compost.
