So he likes Tim Burton, Johnny Depp, and bad movies. It's not a conclusive piece of evidence that he's gay, but you may want to file it away. It does, however, suggest he has really crappy taste in movies.

I don't think this means he's gay. It seems like he has a variety of taste in movies. May I ask why the movies he likes makes you think he might be gay?

No, he's probably still safe. If he liked Pirates of The Carribean that would be saying something.
