How many of y'all actually know what your passion is in life? And if you do know, have you followed it and made a career out of it? I ask this question because I am almost 24 years old and still have no idea what my gifts or passions are. I've always been pretty good at most things that I've tried, but never continue with anything or follow through because I get bored easily or lack interest. Will I ever find my passion and my true calling? How should I go about it?

best way to try as many things as possible.
the best thing to achieve in life is a path you are dedicated to, not following money. look for happiness in all you do and do something you can be proud of so when you are old you have no regrets.
Aim to be self respectful and respectful to all around you.
My passion is watersports, sailing, diving, swimming - I would love to be a marine biologist and actively protect the reefs of the world.
I always knew this, I've always felt the same - ever since I was little (maybe it's in your heart already and you need to listen).
I am working to get there, and am sure I will.
Whatever you do, don't get distracted.
Good luck!

Being as young as you are, you should think back to a time at school when some things came easier to you than others. Like if the teacher told your class to write a story, did you enjoy writing the story when you were asked to? Did you write more for the sheer fun of it by yourself, without being asked?

Did you enjoy perhaps drawing or painting? Or public speaking? We all have talents, and there would be things that must excite you that you could enjoy either as a means of living or hobby.

There's something you can consider doing: go and see a careers adviser, they're not just at colleges or schools, there are careers counsellors whose job it is to steer people in the right career, sometimes it takes a series of tests to find what you are best suited to.

It is also possible you are gifted, which would explain why you are good at many things and get bored. Then you could be encouraged to be involved in activities that you would find more mentally stimulating.

For me it is writing. It has taken me many years to admit this is what I want to do more of. There were years of blocking it out as an interest because I concentrated on business courses so that I can find an accounting job. Accounting is my bread and butter, but it is writing that makes my pulse race. I have found an editing service where I can send my short story manuscripts and they mark them, and give me feedback and advice. Sometimes the stories need a lot of work, but at least I feel like I'm doing something about it and not feeling like life has passed me by. I'm in my early 40's.

This is my way of combining my work with my interests. I keep them separate. I would be totally frustrated and bored if I couldn't give my writing a chance. Good luck with everything.

There are many things I love doing but I guess I would have to say that writing is really my passion. It's something that has been with me always and it best expresses who I am. Yes, I do write and get paid for it. I have a weekly column in a local newspaper and have had articles in some magazines as well. Although I do some reporting for the newspaper, my creative writing in my column is nearer to my heart and what I love. I love photography and do that part-time as well. Am hoping to expand that in the future to bring in more income. I also love to read and it would be a tremendous loss in my life if I couldn't read any longer, or, if for some reason I lost my ability to write.

Sometimes it takes time to figure out what your passion is and how to make it a viable reality in your life. Don't worry about it, when the time and circumstances are right, you will know that it's something you really want to do. Something you will feel inside you just must do. Even if it is on a smaller scale.

Philosophy is my passion in life, which is why i'm here. I could have made a career out of it but relationship problems and disillusionment with the academic world led to this not happening. I am now trying to make a career as a philosophical counsellor.

I personally also have no idea what my strengths and weaknesses are. I am now forty. I also get bored and am distracted easily.

I don't know what to say to you other than that you have my sympathy. Oh, except to echo what the answerer said about Harry Potter. JK Rowling is an inspiration to us all.

I was a drop out at school my exams were hopeless. Then over 20 years later I read an article in a mag about Herbal Medicine. I did some searching on the net and learnt a bit more about it.
I then decided to do a Diploma In Herbal Medicine using a Distance Learning course. Now I have a Diploma with a Distinction. I got 10 straight As, I have never got an A in anything ever before.
Now Herbal Medicine is my passion and I am about to start my own clinic.

My great passion is rural England - the hills and forests of Wiltshire,Shropshire and West Sussex and the birds and animals that live in those places. What had been a love since childhood evolved into a passion when I reached my late 40s and realised that all my happiness, joy and love of life was concentrated into the time I spent in the country. I haven't made a career out of it exactly but I do spend most of my spare time hiking, and work during the winter as an environmental volunteer.

Your true calling is each and every day as you make reality adjust to your existence. And you adjust to it's existence. So it is a matter of improving the connection between you and the developement of your life each and every day. In other words, as you dig into life you will find the avenue you feel is right and will perfect its activity in some way as time goes on. If you know how to succeed you probably wont have much trouble identifying with it once you realize it. Im old and I know because I have been there. It took me five years of stumbling around the subject and lightweight experimenting and then retracting and then starting over and all. Finally with that preparation and determination I took three years to dominate the material I had accumulated for the information I needed to head on in what I passionatly took up. Good Luck.

I was one of the fortunate ones. In Cub Scouts I built the crystal radio, the one-tube and two-tube radios and I was hooked for life on electronics. Now, after nearly 50 years, I am still excited to go to work every day and design new circuits, troubleshoot problem circuits, and play with all the neat toys we engineers have to play with.

I know some people never find their passion, and I feel sorry for them.

Throughout my life, I changed jobs as soon as they bored me, but always within the range of my abilities and they usually lasted between 4 and 5 years. Now I'm retired and still have them as hobbies, so I'm never bored.
You could try doing this

Dont worry bout it doing lots of different things can be just as rewarding and more interesting than doing just 1 or 2, it the people year after year doing the same things that make me cringe especially when you hear of say traffic wardens doing like 30yrs service lmfao........... do everything in moderation is my stance in life.
