Recycle everything you can, reuse everything else and what little is left find another use for. I am a treasure hunter so dig up lots of metal and glass that is over a hundred years old. I recycle much of the metals that I can, copper, brass, lead, aluminum, and iron. I make about $20.00 a month so it is not big money but this is stuff that I dig up anyway. As I see it this is a win-win situation, the environment gets cleaned up and I make a few dollars at the same time. I also recycle the old glass bottles that I dig up most of which are broken but I do keep some of the more historical items for my collection.

A lot of it can be recycled. Most plastics can, for example. In fact, the more clever young people design things that are made with recycled materials, the more valuable this material will be, and the more incentive for municipalities to put a recycling program in place. With good management, it can pay for its own costs, at the very least.

There is something called a Cyclone furnace that burns everything and the waste elements are recycled for fertiliser. A few US states have them, forward thinking.
Not in the UK tho, bureaucracy and institutionalized governmental cowardice will see that any good ideas get crushed. This is the same for all Brit governments, not just this one

FREECYCLE. We as americans throw away more usefull goods then anyone else.
How about a surcharge for excessive trash?
How about a refuse rescue that goes around taking things and reworking them for a new life in someones home?
The city could issue permits and then control the mess better.

clothes can be brought to charity shops to so help others in need. plastic and paper and bottles can be recycled. and green waste won't do any harm. that will be naturallt recycled anyway. but there are many things that we can't recycle that easy. for these problems? don't even buy or consume such products. atleast your bit of rubbish will be reduced!

unless it is nuclear power plant waste,, all else can be recycled. Plastic,, glass, metal,, you name it, all can be recycled,, however, most will say that it costs too much. BS,, in the long run,,it will cost even more to clean it up.
