It is not only about religion. Every hot country bury their dead the next day, for obvious reasons. When I tell people in Spain that in Britain it can take up to a week to bury people and that often they are at home all this time , they do not believe it and are disgusted. They are just being practical, and tradition has a lot to do with it also. My grandmother died on a Mon and was cremated on the Fri. That would never happen in Spain. Sometimes family members do not have time to get to the funeral, but it,s always been done that way.

Dont you have any decency inside you.The Funeral was done for practical reasons also it is a custom in countries the likes of Pakistan. To the Muslim people reading these message I say to them. You must try and forgive the hatred these people have for you. They are selfish,do not posses any feelings only for themlves. It is a sad day for Pakistan and for the World seeing Terrorists getting closer and now killing World leaders.

I mean I dont begrudge (they know that) but they are very expensive. U can hardly sit there when yr mother's or whoever in tears and say well actually that is a little expensive can u? Does anybody else find this?

Reminds me of the funeral of the Ayatolla Khomeni in Iran, they had him planted before sunset as I recall.

It is their religion to bury quickly, which if you think about it makes sense.
Catholics are supposed to be buried on the third day, don't know much about other religion's burial ceremonies.

You generally find that funerals in hot countries take place real fast otherwise the stench would be awful

Its a Muslim tradition to bury the dead very quickly. Its actually based on the practicalities of having to keep bodies in such hot climates.
There is a good argument that it helps the grieving process too as you can get on with it, rather than the terrible wait for the funeral.
