First of this is a brilliant question - studies show and i feel the same way, you always think and swear in your mother tongue, meaning the language you speak at home, but all said and done what language would a person who is not able to speak think in?

No, I mix everything up. I don't speak in just one language and I don't think or dream in just one language either.
For example, I always do mental arithmetic in English, but I rarely speak it.
By the way Stanley, I swear In English at home and in French in the car...not sure what those "studies" would make of that.

i think in with my native language (Tagalog) but the language i use in speaking depends on the person i'm talking with...either Americans or Japanese...

Yes. My husband doesn't though. He's Korean, he thinks in it, dreams in it (he talks Korean in his sleep), but speaks English to me.
