Currently i only have one system fan, i checked to see where and how it is connected, its connected to a 3 pin connector right next to a larger connector which is the CPU fan connector. I looked for more of the same connectors but couldn't find any so my mainboard can only have one system fan?

If there are no other fan connectors on the motherboard, other fans like case or chassis fans could be connected directly to the 4 pin molex connectors of power supply. Retail fans with 3 pin connectors usually come with 4 pin adapters.

It depends on your PC case design and power supply. You can not usually physically install any fans on your motherboard expect for CPU fan. Fans are usually installed on your case. You need to find out how many fans can be installed on your case. You can usually find that out by counting the number of vents on your case. However, your power supply also need to have a free 4 pin connector to power on the additional fans. One or two of the fans on the case(depending on your motherboard), can also be connected to motherboard via the 3 pin connectors. The fans that are connected to CPU via the 3 pin connectors are controlled by motherboard in terms of speed. Keep in mind that not all fans need to be connected to motherboard. The ones that are not connected to motherboard will run at a constant RPM.

You can buy case fans that have 4 pin molex connectors. These will plug in at your drives (HDD, CD) You should balance your system. If you have 1 sucking air in, you should also have 1 blowing out the back. This will allow for proper cooling and reduce dust buildup at openings like the CD and USB.
