I don't think it's any more inspiring than any other season. Certain types of ideas lend themselves more to the beginning of the death of the year, to loss of leaves, to approaching cold. But I think you'll find just as many about spring with the beginning of life, warming after winter, etc. It just depends on what the poet or artist is trying to say. You'll find just as many paintings of spring as of fall.

I don't actually think it is. I think that winter is. People like to write poems about heartbreak and stuff like that by comparing it to the coldness of winter and for painters etc snow and similar things are a great inspiration.

Because it is a beautiful way to die. Summer life moves to winter's dormant "death". If that be necessary, isnt autumn a beautiful way to do it? Makes us fear death a little less.
