so about a yr or 2 ago i started having very irregular periods, one every 6 mths or more ! ive been to the dr and was told to come in for a pap-smear and blood tests! im afraid to go bk to the doctor for fear that they may say that i cant have kids any advice ?

make an appointment and get into the dr. you will need a full exam and probably some tests done! dont think the worst sweetie, just go and checked out. he may want to put yuo on a low dose birth control to help get your cycles regulated!! and you need a yearly pap!! just go do it and get it over with then you can have some peace of mind!!! im sure everything will be fine!!!

You need to go back to the doctor. The blood tests are to check your hormone levels and the Pap is to look for any abnormal cells that could indicate cancer. This isn't something to put off. It might be that your hormones have gone wonky and you need birth control or it could be more serious. Go back to the doctor and get the tests done, for your health and future.

Irregular periods can be an indication of a hormone imbalance. The bloodwork that gets done will give some clues as to what is going on.

do you exercise often? If your body is under a lot of stress usually you do not have periods. I highly doubt you are infertile. I wouldn't worry and go to the doctor because they will only want the best. The longer you wait the greater your chances for infertility if it is something big.

I almost got the same problem as you, except that i have 2 kids - both at 1st attempt. After that, still irregular as before....Gynae can't explained why, i have been with him for 10 years.
