We never told anyone about the boys names until they were born, safe and healthy!!
My friends and family had a poll happening about what names we would choose. They got it so wrong!!! hehe!!

We have picked our daughters name, but am struggling with another boys name. I want to tell people, but I like keeping it a surprise.

How about you

For me here, it's a bad sign if you tell people name of unborn child and even choosing names in the 1-2 trimester. We are only allows to choose name during the last two months before the baby is born. If you do that, you might lost the baby. It's good to keep it until the baby is born safe and healthy. I agreed with you.

We told everybody the name of our daughter even before she was conceived. We always knew we wanted a little girl named Rebecca Lynn; we call her Becca and lo and behold she's asleep with her new Baby Alive down the hall. We didn't tell anybody our boy's name until late in the pregnancy because we didn't know it until late in the pregnancy. By the way he's named Marlin Grant; we call him Grant and he's asleep in the room next to his big sissy. We lost a baby in between the two and we told people the name was either going to be Ryan Marlin or Rachel Marie. When we lost the baby those names were no longer an option for us.

I told people our choices with both of mine and got mixed responses but it didn't change our minds. Am telling people already what I like for this baby but so far no one likes what I like! My family are so boring!

We are going to have a betting thing going on next month as to what the sex is. And then we are going to have everyone write down 5 names for that sex once we know and see what other peoples ideas are. Thought it would be fun to see what our family likes to name our child, even though it may not influence our decision at all. Just curious to see what they would pick.

I knew I was having twins but did not know what they were so I had to come up with two boys names (4 if you count midle names ) and same with girls. Even I did not know which name I would give until they were 2 days old.I hate the idea of finding out. I would rather wait till they are born also I hate knowing what friends are having. With one friend we all knew the sex, name and date he would be born (induced) all that was left was weight...big deal. I wish people didn't tell. Good for you for keeping it to yourself. I love the suprise when friends tell me.

p/s I had boy/girl twins. Elijah James and shannon Taylor

We told everyone the name we picked out, but next time I think I will keep it a secret. Everyone on earth asks about names so it would be fun to be that annoying person who won't let anyone know! Hehe. My parents did it with our family when I was young and it drove us nuts!

we've kept the mane a secret, we know from scans its a boy and have told everyone this, i felt it would be nice to have a suprise for my friends and family when he finally arrives, hard keeping it in though! especially as me and hubby use it when talking to/about the baby when no one else is around. i found it helps to tell people on things like this, you get the release of telling the secret without anyone you know finding out.
if you want peoples help picking just ask for suggestions, lots of them from lots of people, if you want to know peoples opinions tell them a few different names maybe 5 or 6 dont let them know which is the favourite and see the reaction.
for the record we're expecting James Michael mid-late january, hes our first.

We told no one....and it bugged everyone! We just wanted to keep something for ourselves! Besides I didn't want to hear other peoples opinions on what they thought of it...some people can be really mean:(
