Mortality means the susceptibility to die. Immortality is the antonym of mortality and the opposite of it. An immortal thing shall not die or decay. All material things are mortal and the spirit is said to be immortal. Man is immortal in that the spirit within him will did or decay even after the physical death.

Immortality to me is attaining nirvana...a level at which the whole cycle of birth and death is all left behind. Soul is immortal...
Also being immortal is what we have done or attained in our lives, because of which other people still remember us...and for good.

Immortality has no birth, no death. We are immortals but not as 'we.' We are immortals only when we are not. In our not-being is our real existence.

To exist as a person is to exist in the limitations of birth and death -- old age, illness, disease and all. Not to exist as a person means to start existing as a presence. Then there is no beginning and no end; you are co-terminal with existence itself.

immortality is like infinity a concept that cannot exist in the real world even though it could be imagined, its theoretical, perhaps it would be possible to attain immortality, but it is highly, highly unlikely - next to impossible, if not impossible

Immortal is that which is eternal, has no beginning and end,no birth and death and that is God.When we realise God, we also cast off the non-eternal such as body, mind and intellect and merge with Him, the individual Self(Atman) joins its true abode, the Super Soul(paramatman),then,"we" also become immortal!

Immortality begins where fear of death ends.

All of us are really immortal .

But we are not aware of that because we think that we are the body.

We are the spirit.

When we die we throw off our body as we throw away one dress.

Self-realisation alone can make you realise this truth.

I know and have realised that I am the spirit.
