"Hi i got these 2 guinea pigs from a neighbour nearly a year ago and theyre about 3 now i guess and one of them just died and they were really close and used to snuggle together all the time and when the other one died she seemed so scared and trembley when i took it out and now its such a big hutch for her on her own and she's gonna be really lonely and i work during the day, so should i get her another friend?

She's quite a big guinea big, they were quite fat when i got them so would it be ok to put a small young one in or should i look for a similar age and size? also would they get on - 2 girls if they havent been together from birth?

Guinea Pigs do like company, however they dont always get along.

My mum has had Guinea Pigs all my life, she has done the same as you. When one dies, she buys another. At some point, 2 of them were fighting, so she seperated them and ended up with 4.

Dont forget they dont have long life spans anyway, so if you buy a fried for the other one, when that one passes on your in the same predicament.

I would suggest getting from someone who breeds them and they are used to being with other guinea pigs / proven friendly breed. If your guinea pig was happy with the other, then it will most probably accept it if its not left on its own for to long

I notified my mom and she or he stated she in simple terms desires sleep we can verify on her interior the morning. properly I knew some thing grow to be incorrect as she did no longer squeel or devour any foodstuff. I took her out wrapped her in a heat blanket and then watched her slowly progression into dying. i grow to be up the finished nighttime attempting to save her. and then she began having strokes. the ideal point grow to be whilst her head grew to grow to be limp and that i knew as we fought at the same time it grow to be the top. Which scared me. She enable loose one very final sigh as she fought and in no way complained, appeared at me, and gave up the ghost. i'm nonetheless tearing up staggering now and this got here approximately 2 months in the past. whilst she gave up the ghost white stuff oozed from her eyes. and then i knew what got here approximately. She had a stroke that first effected her leg and then unfold for the era of her finished physique as much as her head. I in no way knew a guinea pig so very youthful could desire to ensue to this. I observed your remark and had to share my tale. My guinea pig had the comparable component yours did yet i in no way took mine to a vet to get an antibiotic yet it got here approximately on it quite is own.
