NY - more sophisticated/chic, colder, gloomy and grey
LA - gaudy/tacky in a totally fun way, warmer, surrounded by bright lights all the time
I live on Long Island which is close enough to New York City but I'd love to go to LA just because I've never been there. New York City is for fashionistas and cultured people, which I am not...I am an artist however so I do appreciate its artsy-ness :)

I love LA because I love everything about Southern California. Plus, the weather's a little more constant that NY -- it doesn't ever get truly cold out here.

I M in LA never been to NY I don't like here LA so I'd prefer NY but it might change after I experience it.
