The meaning is in the beauty of nature, the beauty of music, the beauty of love, the arts, the smile on children's faces, the connection that you feel with others... Open your heart and know you are beautiful. You are uniquely special for being on this planet. Your life is precious, as is all life. The meaning is in the journey through life, surrounded by beauty. Look toward the positive things. Without these, there would be no meaning. Love is the most important thing, as it makes the most sense. The more you love openly and freely, the more you will receive from others.Life is too precious, do not destroy it.

80% of humanity, the religious folks, don't need to ask the meaning of life, the church tells them....the supernatural explanation. But the rest of us can't swallow religious dogma, because there's no evidence. Nobody can prove that there life after death, that people are tortured or rewarded after life or that there's invisible spirits running around.

I've come to two conclusions recently:

1. Life has no meaning
2. Life has a million meanings.

First, there's a certainty that death and annihilation awaits not only you, but the Earth in general. It's an astonomical certainty that our sun will supernova and leave the earth a burnt crisp, not to mention all the other extinction level events around the corner.

Second, the million things that give us meaning are the pleasurable experiences we can conjure up during the short period we are here on the earth, in the form of the relationships we have with our kids and other people, and the 'housekeeping' types of purposes. What i mean by that are the curing disease, ending hunger, improving literacy, reducing crime, preventing war, helping other kinds of things.

So the bottom line is, we only have a temporary meaning to life, to reduce pain and increase pleasure, other than that everything is lost to oblivion.

To be or not to be? "To be" is temporary and "not to be" is inevitable.....

The universe, and everything in it, was created for a particular purpose, and with all its systems and balances specifically designed for human life. Materialists assert that there is no purpose or aim in the universe; claiming that all the equilibrium, harmony and order that we see around us are merely the product of coincidence.

One of the major reasons why people feel a profound sense of attachment for life and cast religion aside is the assumption that life is eternal. Forgetting that death is likely to put an end to this life at any moment, man simply believes that he can enjoy a perfect and happy life. Yet, he evidently deceives himself. The world is a temporary place specially created to test man. That is why it is inherently flawed and far from satisfying man’s endless needs and desires. Every single thing, big or small, existing in the world eventually wears out, becomes corrupt, decays and finally disappears. This is the never-changing reality of life. Have you noticed that the earth is wearing out too?

To do things that you enjoy and to help others do what they enjoy. There is not universal answer. My answer is sit in the sun, pet my rat, love those around me and at least 1 random act of kindness a day, may it to be my husband or a hobo. Also don't worry about the universe and everything, it will be much easier if you stick to the first one

If there is meaning, it has to be from God. You're essentially asking what God had in mind (meant) when He created life and the universe.

If we reject God, then there is no meaning, no purpose, no nothing. A number of answerers just tell you to forget about meaning but we can't really do that. A life without meaning is a worthless life and there is something in our human nature that demands that our life mean something hence all the questions such as yours on Y!A.

Without God all we do is invent something to do that will keep us occupied and keep our mind off of our meaningless existence until we can die. We invent something, attach great importance to it and then tell ourselves that our invention is the reason why we exist. It is an exercise in self delusion.

If God exists, He must have put our great need for meaning into our human nature to point us to seek Him. To seek God is our purpose and the process gives our lives meaning.

Think of the universe as a super computer. We are the programmers. Our intelligence ,circumstances and other resources are the software languages like C or VB. We write codes using our given language( i mean the resourses). The product depends on how well we coded.

You cannot find a meaning in the Universe or in life; we are the result of a miraculous accident.

The least you can do is to enjoy life to the full and contemplate the skies in awe.

Since you asked, I'll put my two cents in. It means having a close relationship with your Creator and pleasing Him. By reading His word, you can find out what pleases Him, thus fulfilling your destiny. I've heard it said that it's hard to find out what the will of God is. It's not that hard at all, if you have a relationship with Him through His word and through prayer. His word says to be at peace with everyone, as much as it is possible, thus knowing that this pleases Him. By reading His word daily, you get to know these things, and more. It makes life so much fuller, when you understand it from God's perspective. While there will always be mysteries that God alone knows, it all works out to good to those who follow Him. Okay...that's my understanding. Have a good day. <*)))><
