At age 12 I helped out in the kitchen of a restaurant in my neighborhood after school and as payment, the owner would feed me and my 2 younger sisters dinner (our mother was schizophrenic and would forget to feed us sometimes) That wonderful restaurant owner knew we were having hard times and really helped us out. I didn't have to work hard, she just wanted me to feel that I wasn't getting charity. Then when I was 13, I worked all summer de-tasseling corn and chopping weeds in soybean fields. I worked all through high school and worked my way through college. (that took 6 years for a 4 year degree because some semesters I could only afford part-time classes). I've been teaching handicapped kids now for 26 years and I always take a job in the summers. I don't think I could go a whole summer without working, I'd get so bored!

Age of 5 when my parents gave me my first chore and told me Id get $1 every time I cleaned my room. As I got older the chores increased but the pay decreased to nothing! At 18 worked at Cantina Del Rio as a hostess. Many jobs in between thn and now. Now I am self employed with my own business! Yeah!

My social security shows eleven years old (I lied my age) and it was a truck farm in Minnesota. I worked there for five years. In between, I had two jobs, I worked at a theater on week-ends and certain nights a week.
