One who listens tends to have and gather more wisdom than the yapping packs of dogs. You are just fine, namaste'.

Yes I agree. I get told the same thing when I go on outings with my friends. Personally I'm not going to talk unless I want to or unless I have something to say. I'm not the type of person to talk just for the sake of talking. I'm one of the rare few that thinks before I say anything. So to answer your question no there is not anything wrong with being quiet. that's who you are and you shouldn't force yourself to change that.

I agree with you.
I only talk in the office if there is something to add to a conversation or I have something interesting to say or ask.
I hate small talk, it makes me cringe asking someone "how was your weekend" every monday morning. I dont care! Not unless something good happened, like they were abducted by aliens, experimented on and they enjoyed it! But when you get asked, or you ask... its the same response "yeah, great thanks, you?"...
The people who then elaborate, telling you about their bowel movements and where they went for their shopping, and a funny story about how they tied their shoelaces wrong, and then had to unlace them and tie them again... they are the ones who comment on your quietness.
Some people like to make comments to make them look loud and interesting.
I dont like people who actually try and make themselves sound like they are talkative by saying things like "i was speechless then...me of all people?!"
There is nothing wrong with being quiet as there is nothing wrong with people being loud. I just think people shouldnt comment.

I used to get that a lot when I was younger and I sometimes still do. Mostly the people that say it to me are people who talk a mile a minute and I can't get a word in edgeways, then they accuse me of being quiet. I kind of just laugh it off though.

Quiet is golden. I love the quiet. If you feel comfortable with the other person just hanging out, why do they feel the need to fill it with noise?

I used to be like you. There's nothing wrong with it. People say that most likely because you're not saying anything, so they're trying to break the ice by making it less awkward...

I am so feeling you.
I agree that I only talk when I really have something important to say. I really fed-up with people who say meaningless things.
besides, "those people" never appreciate whatever I say, anyway.
