I work at Godfather's pizza and I usually eat somthing like cheesy breadsticks or hot wings or pizza when I work for supper, but tonight I decided to go to Subway instead.

I got a 12" wheat bread ham and american cheese with extra mayo and pickels, I hear mayo is really bad for you, even still is that better than eating the food from Godfather's?

it all depends what you order.
That sandwich has 570 calories with out any mayo and yes it is very bad for you.
but then a foot long meat ball has 1220 calories
that seems to be the worst one on the menu
most likely you are consuming that same calorie count in pizza or what not.
So yes subway is better but hold the mayo or ask for the lite version and get what ever on a whole grain bread

So, I've been working out 5 days a week and doing my best to maintain a 1,000-1,200 calorie deficit (which, for me at 6'0" 245 lbs, means I'm supposed to eat right around 2,000 calories). When I'm finished working out probably 2-3, sometimes 4 days a week I go to Subway afterward and get a 12" subway club or Italian BMT on wheat with light mayo, mustard, lettuce, bell peppers, etc etc.

If I'm not mistaken, those 12" sandwiches have like 8-900 calories, right? My problem I suppose is that I don't religiously track my calories here because I simply don't have the time. Sometimes I'll do a quick calculation at the end of the day to see where I'm at, but on these workout days I really don't even care. I scarf those subs down.

So do you think maybe I should split up the sandwiches between lunch and dinner (6" for each, respectively) and maybe have a salad/fruit with them instead of making one meal out of it?

I'm just worried that footlong subs have way too many calories. Maybe I'm insane.

Thanks for the input, guys!

Pizza is not unhealthy. However the cheesy breadsticks and wings are not best.

Yes a subway sub would be a healthy alternative. The small amount of mayo is not gonna do that much harm. Eat all things fried and greasy in moderation. Overeating does more harm than other things.

Work on portion size. That serving is well over a half day's calories.

Also, combining cheese, bread, mayo, and meat is very difficult to digest efficiently (look up 'food combining'). That food just sits in your body fermenting. You might start reading about diet. Also, ask the sandwich artist to give you an estimate of calories and fat, before you order your next sandwich.

Subway is really clean. My couzin works there and i have seen their kitchen and its fine.I eat there every week.I love there food. The only thing is that some of the food is lying there open.Things might get inside but i dont thing that happens.Nothing can be so bad and it has not affected me so i say its okay.

Ham and cheese at Subway? How did you manage to choke it down?? Did you notice the one slice of ham loaded up with condiments?? What a ripoff...

subway is good. However, like most restaurants. They're food can be high in sodium (depending on what you eat).
