He's on yet another vacation at his ranch. Nothing will get his lazy *** out of Crawford until the first of the year. He'll send Secretary Rice or Cheney in his place. I do agree that his presence would send a positive message if he bothered to attend, but it would by hypocritical in a way because Bhutto sacrificed her life trying to transform Pakistan into a true democracy while we supported the military dictatorship there in the name of the "war on terrorism." Bhutto if elected would have fought the terrorists more aggressively and would have started the process of making Pakistan a democracy. Her death is very tragic.

It's not going to happen. It's obvious that this assassination is the work of either Al Qaeda or the Taliban - both of whom have a vested interest in furthering Pakistan from Democracy and allies in the West.

My money goes on the Taliban as Al Qaeda would, by now, be publicising their involvement.

You may find "representatives" from most of the leading Nations there but certainly not their leaders - given the high number of terrorist units training and hiding in Northern Pakistan who would love the chance of knocking off another major political target.

Really bad idea. The security required to protect him would disrupt the proceedings, and not create any good will anyway. He could attend a memorial service at their embassy here in Washington if he feels the need to do something personal.

The issue isn't about whether or not Bush should attend because she has been buried. The issue is, will Bush's ties to Pakistan increase or decrease terrorism? The problem with U.S foreign policy is that to get oil, they throw dollars at the oil producers, when that stops working, they throw bombs, and when that clearly fails, they return to type and throw more dollars.

I not only think that it would be a very wise move on the part of George Bush to attend her funeral, I would be willing to bet that he does attend her funeral.

It's very unlikely George W Bush would be there. I doubt that even knows where Pakistan is.
