Pardon my French, but when the **** hit's the fan.Whom do they come running to(Not the French nor the Canadians while we're at how bout them Swiss!)
It's our blood that got spilled because of stupid people whom gave Hitler the power to invade one country.

So where's the apology?

It's because of that backwards, arrogant, jingoistic thinking that everyone else in the world hates us. If the majority of Americans think like you do, we deserve whatever we get.

I don't think it's a matter of them asking us, it's more a matter of the USA offering help. The only reason we (or government) does it is because it can. We are the richest nation on the planet and we're less than 300 years old. Granted this land was stolen from it's original inhabitants the same as Mexico was (and probably Canada too), but we (meaning the founding fathers and up) have made more progress than some countries have in 900 years. Yes, I agree with some of the other people that the world needs to pay us back and we need to get out the UN. Our government pumps billions into that waste of space and we get nothing out of it. And to that person that said 70% don't support out policies...that 70% didn't get attacked. They can take a flying flap off a friggin frigate. If France had gotten attacked by Al-Qiada they would've welcomed our troops and our money (just like when Hitler attacked them). Oh, and I think Hitler came into power on his own accord by the German people. He was very energetic speaker. Twisted, insane, and evil,,,,but he stirred their spirits. The only apology the world could give us would be 'sorry we take advantage of your generosity'.

No apologies required. Maybe some recognition from the younger generations, but no apologies.

There were a lot of countries involved in WWI and WWII and they also spilled a lot of blood in the defense of freedom throughout the world. Not all of them soldiers, a great many were civilians doing what they could behind the lines to disrupt the enemies communications and supply lines.

While the U. S. was the economic dynamo and material warehouse that supplied the world with the wherewithal to defeat the enemy, we were by no means alone in our efforts.

While the ANZACS (Australia & New Zealand) were part of the British Commonwealth, and thereby OBLIGATED to assist the Brits, they did not hesitate for an instant to give their ALL in their efforts during BOTH wars. Africa, Asia, & Europe are soaked with ANZAC blood. And it is the Aussies that are assisting us just as much as the Brits in Afghanistan and Iraq.

The stupid ones were the politicians who allowed Hitler to gain power the way he did and to rearm his military despite treaty obligations to the contrary. People like Neville Chamberlain who thought that negotiation was the key to solve all problems.

Sort of sounds like the leftists of today, doesn't it?

No. They owe us a Thanks... Thanks for saving their necks time after time. Not just with our military power, but with our financial aide. Do you know that the only country who paid back their war debt from WWII was Finland?? Huh?? Is that crazy or what?? Yet we continue to support the starving, the sick & every other bleeding heart country out there. Do you know that Mexico does not have enough of a water supply to drink, much less to make a dam to get their electrical power from. I'll give you one guess who foots the bill. They should be paying us a big a__ed water bill, or they should be trading us some of the oil that they are sitting on. Not only are we taking in, feeding & giving medical services to illegals, but we are supplying the ones who stay in Mexico with the conveniences of electricity & their govt. does not pay us for it. What's with that??? So, whether other countries owe us an apology or not, that is a matter of opinion. But I think everyone has to agree that they do owe us a big a__ Thank You.

Not an apology...this isn't school yard politics. It would seem that our 'allies' harbor a great deal of resentment towards the US and like petulant children we shout "You ungrateful bastards!" and then nobody wants to forget it and move on.
Europeans like to think they are morally superior because they can trace their cultures back to the Magna Carta, and North Americans are descendent of those cultures..they look at us like were mutts and ought to be kept out in the backyard until they need protection from some ol' nasty bad guys.
North Americans have the annoying habit of trotting out our history of 'assistance' whenever 'allies' balk and don't 'co-operate' with our wishes.

Come to think of it...it REALLY is like school yard politics.
Huh....you'd think we'd have learned by now.

what the hell are you going on about ????
where are you from ?
I will wait to read where you are from BEFORE i give you an answer......
(though I reckon I have a fair Idea of where you will be from .. the land of WE WON THE WAR, and IF NOT FOR US YOU'D ALL BE SPEAKING EITHER GERMAN OR JAPANESE .... **ROLLS EYES**)

OH what the hell I think I will answer anyway ....
what's this crap about appologies and Thanks ?????

When an allied nation is in trouble .. It is the moral obligation of other allied nations to provide assistance IF asked .. and it's something that isn't done for THANK-YOU'S . .or gratitude or eternal gratitude ( which often seems what is being asked)... IT IS DONE because it would be morally corrupt to stand by and do nothing ....

and PLEASE don't go on and on about YOUR blood being spilt as IF it was the ONLY blood to be spilt....
wanna talk about blood being spilt .. check out the stats of world war one... I think you will find that New Zealand and Australia( as well as so many fantastic brave allies) had an extremely high PER capita % of blood spilt.. BUT WE DON'T try and make our allies grovel and forever say THANK-you.

stick the appology up your bum chum .. PEOPLE such as yourself do your nation a great dis-service... and you are an insult to the broader thinking people of your nation ....

The Canadians and the New Zealanders were the first to come to Britain's assistance in BOTH world wars ... and I am proud to call them allies...

YOU need to learn a little more about world conflicts other than watching John Wayne movies.

this is politics man, no one owes no one apologies.

Entering the war, was in the interest of the US, so it did.

If it was in the interest of GB to side with Japan, it would've.

Japan today is allied with US, even after what happened 60 years ago, pearl harbor, the nukes, etc...... Coz they have common interests.

Egypt fought with Israel till 1973. Today, the Israeli products you buy, have Egyptian components, and vice versa.

There are no ethics, morals, or even humanity. It is just a matter of interests.

I don't know about an apology, but a modicum of appreciation might be in order. We have never, to my knowledge, turned down a legitimate request for help to any country that has asked it of us. It's elitist, self-hating, liberals like liosadh that casts a shadow over our humanitarian efforts. We are not a perfect country, not by a stretch, but we deserve better from our own citizens who can't see past their own political bias and hatred. I have news on this front also. There plenty of folks who don't have a beam in their eyes that don't hate America. I was just recently in Germany by way of Britain (on the way to see my son who was wounded in Iraq), and know this to be true from 1st hand knowledge.

Yes, you bet they do, but as in most things, their pride refuses to allow them even a simple thank you.
