Why would you term it an assasination, what were the likely reasons behind the killing,

They used a suicide bomber and the people who stand to benefit most from political chaos in Pakistan are Islamic extremist. Murder for political not personal reasons is assassinations, and the reasons were almost certainly political.

Technically, the definition of an assassination is a murder for political reasons, and Bhutoo was infact in politics.

As for the exact reasons, I can't say without being able to back it up with evidence.

But the assassination was a conspiracy of a group. I think we can pretty much assume that.
