I havea 4.3 GPA, am taking 5 APs in a hard military academic prep boarding school. I have the highest leadership position in my military school and JROTC. I am also class vice-president and ASB officer. I am involved with Boy Scouts, Beta, Key, and Lions Club and other service clubs. I am a team captain of varsity track, CC, and rifle team. I have won many military and academic honors. My highest SAT score is 1850 and ACT score is 28. Is it possible for me to get to Stanford, Johns Hopkins, U Penn, Cornell, Duke, Emory, or any of the Ivys?

I definitely think so! I know people at Duke/Emory/Cornell with average scores, but great commitment to activities and their community who get into Ivy schools. Cornell has a good JROTC program and it's definitely to your advantage.

Good luck!

Is it possible -- yes. Is it likely -- probably not, unless you make yourself stand out some other way. Your grades are there. Extracurriculars are nice -- but everyone has them (plus they are easy to pad and hard to verify, so mean less than people think). You will need a great essay and a great interview.

You should also know that Cornell and Penn are in the Ivy League.

You are probably wasting your money applying to all of them. I'd apply to a couple that are more likely (Johns Hopkins, Cornell, Emory) and apply to a few great schools that are just a little further down in the rankings. You have an excellent chance at some of the better public schools -- and the private schools in the 20-40 range.
