I get that ABC is happy to have Rebecca Budig back on All My Children as Greenlee. But their ads that say the REAL Greenlee is coming back are so rude - disrespectful - tacky! They don't just insult Sabine Singh who worked very hard on the show for 8 1/2 months. But what about her fans? And what about all the people who were getting used to her as Greenlee?

If Rebecca is the REAL Greenlee then what was ABC doing the last 8 months? Faking US out? How can we ever take recasts seriously? They put Sabine on our TV nearly every day for 8 months and called her Greenlee. But now, even when she is still on the show as Greenlee, they run ads saying the REAL Greenlee is coming back.

I think this is disrespectful & tacky not just to Sabine & her fans but ANYONE who watches All My Children and accepted Sabine as Greenlee. THUMBS DOWN ABC!

I am not saying Rebecca isn't the first or original Greenlee but I don't like these ads. Anyone else?

THUMBS DOWN TO ABC is right. I'm not at all looking forward to Rebecca's return. I liked Sabine too.

To be honest I haven't seen the ads. But it certainly is a slap in the face to the Sabine. I didn't really like her version of Greenlee in the beginning but now I don't think she is doing a bad job at all, altho I am glad Rebecca is coming back. I think ABC owes Sabine an apology for the way they are dealing with it.

I agree with you completely. It's a slap in the face to Sabine Singh, especially considering that episodes with her in them are still airing (or were when this whole campaign started -- I don't actually watch AMC so I'm not sure if she's still onscreen).

It's also insulting to the viewers in that it perpetuates the crazy-soap-fan stereotype. There is no "real" Greenlee; she's a fictional character. ABC is acting as though the audience doesn't know that, and it's really kind of disturbing.

I totally agree with you.AMC has been unwatchable for quite a while & while I am happy to have Rebecca back, I think that it is insulting to Sabine to run those ads.I have been an ABC soap fan for over 25 years & I think that if they were going to run ads like that they should have sent Greenlee away on screen & run them before they brought her back.Very bad taste on AMC's & ABC's part to do this to Sabine. I don't like her portrayal of Greenlee but this was classless.

i guess abc has been in talks with budig to get her to take back the role for the last 8 months. from what i've been seeing on various sights fans like u are in the monority cuz most amc fans were calling for budig to retake the role. alot of them do see her as the real greenlee.

what i do agree with u on is that they played that ad then 30 secs later they showed singh in a hospital bed. i thought that was wrong. they should have taken singh off the air for a few wks then show the ad and then have "the real greenlee" return. we all kno she's coming back but they should allow for a lil transition time bw the actresses.

i personally dont see anything wrong with calling budig the real greenlee cuz most ppl see her as jus that but i think its wrong to do so while singh is still playing the role. i feel bad for her.

I couldn't have said it better. ABC has no taste. I've always liked Sabine Singh and it makes me like Rebecca even less. I hope they don't shove Rebecca down our throats and give her a storyline that will become the Greenlee Show like they did with Kendall. I hate the ads saying Budig was the REAL Greenlee. A little bit of Budig goes a long way.

i actually like Rebecca greater advantageous. yet, Sabine grow to be ok. i think of that Sabine performed Greenlee in a distinctive way than Rebecca, she placed her own spin on the character. that's what any reliable actress could do whilst taking on a function. although if, the way ABC has dealt with it quite is tasteless. they could desire to have despatched Greenlee away & whilst she got here back it could have been Rebecca. i think of that it quite is shameful that they are working those "the genuine Greenlee is back"commercials at the same time as Sabine remains on reveal as Greenlee.

I have to agree with you. It's pretty tacky. I never liked the new Greenlee. But the way they are handling this transition is in poor taste. But ABC has a history of handling these kind of things poorly. This is the first time they've done this particular thing. But look at how they treat their veteran stars. The way they handled Cady McClain was disgusting. Bring back Dixie after all that time & then kill her off in that ridiculous story line. After having her acting completely un-Dixie like for months... urgh! Well, they have some new writers let's hope they get it together!!!

As much as I am looing forward to having Rebecca back as Greenlee, I agree the ADS are very out of line.
Look how many different people have played Derek, and they never even announce his changes. I don't even remember who the REAL Derek was!!

Fortunately I'm not home during the day and haven't seen them. I'm one of those people who didn't particularly like Sabine when she started, but I have to give her credit; she took a very difficult role and made it her own. I've grown to enjoy her work and respect her immensely. And while I have no problem with Rebecca coming back, I do have problems with the way ABC did it. If this sounds stupid it's because it is: I think ABC thinks bringing Rebecca back will solve all their problems - WRONG!!!
ABC, your ratings are down because you have writers who neither know your characters nor care to learn. Your ratings are down because you allow the "suits" to rule storylines rather than letting people who have training and experience in the business of daytime drama to do what they know best. Your ratings are down because you ignore core characters who have long-standing fan bases, fire popular characters with no real reason other than they ticked you off. You can bring Rebecca back, but it's not even a drop in the bucket toward repairing the damage you've done to your own show. So if we leave for cable, accept the responsibility and then get over it.

i think so too.at first i did not like the new greenlee but then i warmed up to her and now they are bringing rebecca back and they dont have all of a resemblance to each other.it is very rude how they are showing old clips and it is kinda disrespectful to sabine.she portrayed greenlee very well and now she is getting the boot to rebecca.
