I would like to honor both of our mothers in our daughters name...her first name will be abigail

our mothers names are kathryn diane and elizabeth ann. what would be a creative compromise for her middle name without using plain ol ann?

Unfortunately, your mothers' names don't combine very well into new ones. I offer my suggestions, but they sound rather silly:

Abigail Deliza (Diane + ELIZAbeth) or Abigail Delise
Abigail Kaliza (KAthryn + eLIZAbeth)
Abigail Anndi (ANN + DIane)
Abigail Diann (DIANE + ANN)
Abigail Kayanne (KAthrYn + ANN + e)

Fortunately, though, your mothers have nice names that are still popular today. I like the idea of giving your daughter two middle names. You can either use your mothers' exact names, or you can find a variation that you like better.

Abigail Kathryn Elizabeth
Abigail Elizabeth Kathryn
Abigail Elizabeth Kate
Abigail Elizabeth Diane
Abigail Kathryn Ann
Abigail Kathryn Eliza
Abigail Diana Elise
Abigail Diana Lisette
Abigail Kathryn Elise
Abigail Kate-Anne
Abigail Anne-Kathryn
Abigail Katrina Beth

My first thought was Anna.
My middle name is Anna and I love it but I agree that if my middle name was Ann/Anne I wouldn't like it as much
However I dont think either Anne or Anna go with Abigal
Diane and Bethany are a couple of others that combine both names
Perhaps just name her after one of your mothers, either using one of thier names, a name that means the same as one of those names or starts with the same letter ect. And if your planning on having future children name a second daughter after the other
Failing that, you could give your daughter two middle names x

Abigail Kathabeth
Abigail Katiebeth
Abigail Kathann
(maybe too far out there?)

You could always give her two middle names... Abigail Diane Elizabeth or Abigail Kathryn Elizabeth

Good luck!

Abigail Eliane (all letters from both names)
Abigail Adaline

Hyphenate her middle name. Stars do it all the time. Abigail Kathryn-Elizabeth. Or Ann-Kathryn.
