After becoming pregnant, I love hearing the different ideas people come up with! What is your child/children's names and were they named after anyone?

This isn't exactly answering your question but I would like to just point some things out while you're thinking of names - I don't mean to be patronising, I just want to write it because people seem to forget these things :) I know, because my siblings and I grew up with 'weird' names.

Number one - remember that your baby has to live with the name for the rest of their lives, so if everyone is telling you a name is horrible, then your child is probably going to cop it in their lifetime - because people do NOT keep these comments to themselves! And you don't want him/her knowing that everyone else thinks their name is horrible.

Number two - they are going to have to continually spell their name for the rest of their lives if you give them an unusual name - or worse than that is if you have a classic name but with a modern twist with it because they are now not just "Jessica" but "Jessika with a k"

Number three - if you really do want something different, I would go for a name that everyone has heard of but you rarely hear - for instance, my best friend's name is Caroline and where I live it is not common so I have only ever actually known 2 Caroline's in my life!

Eliza Jasmine; named for no-one, we just liked it! She almost didn't get a middle name but everyone insisted she needed one so I opened the baby name book and saw Jasmine so that was it!

Isaac Matthew; Isaac we just liked, Matthew is my husband middle name also and I've always liked that name but hubby didn't want it as a first name.

Baby # 3 is yet unamed but so far I like Zara Kate for a girl - Zara cos I like it, Kate for my grandmother that recently passed away

Well I don't have any kids myself, being only 14 but my parents named us three kids...

Megan Jane - Megan because they just loved the name and Jane after my daddy, who is John.

Emily Lorraine (my twin sister) - Emily because my parents loved Emma but as our last name ends in "a" as well it didn't flow, so it became Emily. Lorraine is after both my grandma's middle names.

Shawn Hamish (my 10 year old brother) - My mum liked Hamish but Dad didn't so they made that the middle name and settled on Shawn for a first which they both loved.

My Daughter's name is Riley-Anne Elizabeth. Riley is a family surname on my side. Anne was her father's mother's name (she passed away when he was 2) and Elizabeth is both of our maternal grandmother's names.
My son I named Andrew David. Growing up, my mother owned a business and worked full time. The woman who took care of me had the last name of Andrews- so he's named after her. My father's name is David, that's where the middle name came from.
Good luck naming your baby and congrats :-)

ETA: This forum is tough. How the heck did I get a thumbs down for my answer :-(

nicely, i'm a toddler myself yet my first call is Alexis and initially my mom needed to call me Alixandra after a colleague she worked with in a daycare. They have been given quite close and she or he consistently enjoyed that call yet my dad did no longer look after the spelling or call in many situations, chanced on it to be a mouthful so as that they settled on Alexis. As for my center call, Tripp, it grow to be my grandmothers final call and she or he gave my mom the midsection call who did the comparable for me. as quickly as I actual have childrens 2 names I at present plan to call them are Tripp and Asha, have not thought with regard to the midsection names yet nonetheless. Tripp using fact i opt to pass it down yet individually i do no longer like it as a women center call yet like it for a boys first. And Asha using fact it originated from India, a place that i've got consistently been involved in and desire to sometime pass too. and that i think closeness with the gods there, Saraswati in specific.
