Should i bother upgrading my dual core Pentium D with a core 2 duo. I've been thinking it'd be better for games i play. I've got a Geforce 7600 GT. Apparently there's a chance it could be bottlenecking my graphics? Is that the case with my current setup?

Processor upgrading is a pain. I doubt your processor is bottlenecking your graphics. Your current setup is fine

Actually gaming is one application where the cpu isn't as important as say a good graphics card, an adequate power supply and cooling should you choose to overclock ^^I am thinking that you may be using a motherboard that may not support Core2 duo so if you want to , AMD is another route which seems to be the choice of my gaming mates (less for processor, more for graphics) Cheers and happy gaming ^^

7600GT which just uses 128bit memory interface is not fast enough to be bottlenecked by the Pentium D. It is the higher end cards that uses 256bit or higher memory interface that could be bottlenecked by the Pentium D.
BUT you could just try overclocking your Pentium D and see if there is significant score improvement in 3D Mark 05 or 06.

It might help but your graphics card isn't all that great either. Depending on how much RAM you already have, if you're just looking to help your gaming performance, I'd recommend looking into a new graphics card instead - an 8800GT would be great.
