The first is true...
The exact quote is
"Khomeini will eventually be hailed as a saint."
The second is also true....however it was meant as a joke...and Young himself said so...
Funny how when a liberal makes a joke he's let off the hook.....

He most assuredly said the first quote & the second sounds like typical "Young-speak" although I couldn't confirm it right now (based on having lived & worked in DC on & off for a few years as a journalist & following politics as a hobby/not as a reporter).

Yes, he said it, but later he admitted it didn't go over the way he had planned. He was trying to make a "joke". Didn't work. He did say it, I heard it myself.
