I agree we should get out.
The idea was good---WHEN this group was formed , one of its outstanding characteristics—despite the diversity of its members—"was to be" "it's goal of unity.". They were to represent a variety of backgrounds—priests, soldiers, slaves, refugees, tradesmen, professionals, and businesspeople etc..
But the idea and what it is are two different things. Many of the Representatives have superficial emotions, not a self-sacrificing love for the good of all on the earth. More of a selfishness what is best for them. Since I don't see that changing than yes, we should get out of all. Why hang on to things that don't really have our or others best interest in heart? In my view to hang on to something just for appearance sake is not a good reason to be part of something you don't believe in or isn't doing you any good.
I think our Constitution was written with a self sacrificing love for all the people concerned here. It wasn't geared to the people who wrote it for their desires. We should be proud of it. It has great values to it. It laid down detailed laws so that our nation could identify and avoid wrongdoing. If only all people did that in life what a difference it would make.

Absolutely. Initially, the U.N. was comprised of powerful industrial countries organized to stand against worldwide atrocities and to aid those in need. It has become a watered-down version of what it once was over the past twenty years due to disagreements on policies and political indifference. Seeing as the U.S. and Great Britain foot better than half of the bill for conflicts and aid, it is senseless to remain a part of this generally, ineffectual body. NATO, however, seems like an organization that we should continue to support. Our allies there have more in common with us than most of europe.

As long as the U.N exists, America will be held back. As long as the U.N exists, America will be made fun of. As long as the U.N exists, America will be in danger of losing herself in petty beaurocracy and scheming Globalism.

I know this is a popular belief right now, but I don't agree with it.
We need to keep up the appearance of cohesion that the UN provides though, yes, that is all they provide.

Absolutely. It's a useless forum where the US gets beaten up on every time it meets. Cut off funding, ask them to leave the country. We'll be happy to trade with, be friends with any nation who returns the favor. We should NEVER send a penny to any nation where we can't safely go on vacation.

Absolutely not. If the U.S. backs out of the U.N. it will make them look even more arrogant and selfish. Other countries would start hating Amerika even more and that could lead to more terrorism. To cut down on terrorism aimed at Amerika, the country should stop being so arrogant, selfish, and disrespectful to others. Terrorists hate Amerika because they don't like the way Amerikan politicians are with the leaders of their country. Amerika is being portrayed as a rich, snobby, bully.

I think we should get out of the UN and expell them from our country. They are nothing more than a corrupt self serving organization.

I'm with you 110%.
My theory is this...since the world hates us so much, we should just let the world deal with itself. Seal our borders for a while, stop all imports and exports (we have enough resources to be self supportive for decades), stop all foreign aid, and send no troops to aid other countries in conflict or during any kind of natuaral disaster.
Then, sit back and watch the rest of the world whine that we aren't helping and fixing their problems.

no. i dont think so. i dont really want to live in a world, where we cant recognize each others differences. even though we all know we are all equal. people of one nation are no better or more special than another - we are united. we are all stuck on this unique and beautiful planet. .. why not make the best of it? why be a selfish brat and live in a self absorbed state of mind? we are not sovereign as a nation, we are sovereign as human beings. all as one. your effed up man.
