The conflict. It has to catch your readers imagination. If a story was about nothing no one would really care about if the characters were cool or if it was in third person.

I would say all of the above. You have to get to know and feel about the characters whether it is love or hate. As for the plot, if there isn't one it is very hard to read, it is very hard to get absorbed by it. As for writing style, I think that the writers who get more descriptive genuinely have better books. If you can picture it then you can imagine it happening as you are reading.

Characters and plot. You need to care about the people in the story, and the story itself needs to be interesting. A book about a normal life with no drama would not be much fun to read.

better don't maybe it too lengthy and slow, it will be a disaster.
Focus on characteristics of the character.
