Keep for quite awhile and then give to charity shops, I feel awkward and a bit disrespectful letting them go straight away

Well I don't usually return or throw away (espec. that) b/c there's sure to be someone around who could use it. So I might hold onto it for a cupla/few years, re-gift (secret santa is one way) and/or donate it. Sometimes I re-gift, not as a gift, but as "I have something I think you'd really like" with no ties attached.
So happy to get rid of it--lol!!!

Re-gift, I would rather see them used then wasted. This is usually clothes that are a little too small. I have some friends built just slightly smaller than I, and appreciate the new clothes.

I've only exchanged things a few times over the last 35 years. Most of the time I'll donate a gift I can not use to charity.....hmmm....I may have sold a couple at yard sales....:)

They go in the closet section that I keep gifts in... just things that I see on occasion that might make a good or interesting gift for someone. I never return things, that's just something I refuse to do. I will find someone who needs what ever it is that I manage to save in that closet of mine. They generally are very appreciative, hey, one mans junk is another man's treasure! So, I have quite a collection of items in there just waiting for the perfect person to come along. They are all new mind you!

I usually regift them, or just give them away. I don't like to throw useful things away, and there is usually someone who will appreciate things that are not right for me. However, if it is something that has been made especially for me by a close friend, I usually keep it for a year or two, or even longer, so as not to disappoint that person, if they see me often and are in my house a lot.

I'll give them away to someone if I know they can use the items. I don't wrap and regift them. I'll just ask a friend if they can use the stuff. Otherwise, I'll keep the gifts around for a few years, then throw them out.

Those gifts get accidentally thrown in the trash. Oops. And not right away mind you. Its that during cleaning or moving things around it must have fallen in the trash. And it was one of my favorites too.

I keep the gift for a while, then either re-gift it to someone else, or simply give it away by taking it to the thrift shop. Someone else might love it.

I usually feel too guilty to get rid of them so I keep them around for a few years, then give them to a charity.
