and the universe is accelerating ax > 0
F = c * ∞
Then the force causing it is ∞ N too


So ∞ J of work must be done also

but this is impossible since nothing can be infinite


Therefore, the mass of the universe must be finite.

so it is either finite or it is infinite with mostly empty space?

Several mistakes.

1) most scientists think that the mass in the universe is NOT infinite.

2) F is a vector. So a force in one direction would be canceled out by a force acting in the opposite direction.

These two show that the "force" in the universe is not infinite.

As to whether the universe is finite or infinite in dimension, I personally think it must be infinite, but most scientists disagree (but no one knows for sure).

As far as it being "empty" space, that would depend on your definition of empty. If you think of the outer atmosphere of earth as "empty", then most of space is empty.

But the reality is there is some small amount of energy and/or matter in almost all of space.

U hav a pt in this question and also several mistakes.
First the mass of universe is not infinity, it is finite, but finitely large.
I hope u understand what I mean.
The force is vector quantity, so most of the forces get cancelled out. But yet the resultant force is there.

There is lot of work done by the universe.Thats what big bang theory suggests. The galaxies are moving away from each other. This is a work done only. So these are the concepts behind it.

I think u urself(in ur question) said in the end that nothing can infinite.So naturally mass of universe also not infinite.
