Girls are like that. Better get used to it

The run man run quote is probably right. This is a high maintenance girl. shoes these days can cost hundreds of dollars if not thousands. So she, effectivly, has a small used car sitting in her closet. Be aware that this fetish doesn't get any better as time goes by. Basicly your house payment goes down the tubes every month.
Just thought you should know!!! Think in dollar terms. the shoes probably average around $100 dollars a pair and she has about $6000 dollars sitting there. Yikes!

In my opinion this is excessive consumerism. There is no rational need for this many shoes or bags; it is fueled by ego and vanity, not good sense or thrift.

A person of 28 who is thinking about marriage should be saving (or better, investing) surplus income, not frittering it away on ephemeral nonsense.

I say this assuming the woman used cash to make the purchases. if she bought it all with credit, the story is much more grim---I'd say get out of the relationship asap. A spendthrift spouse has ruined many a marriage.

Who decides how many shoes we should have, or how many cars, or shirts, or purses, or anything else? She obviously loves shoes and purses for her outfits. If she can afford them, then that is fine. Maybe the question you are concerned with is how she spends her money...is she throwing it away? Will she expect you to let her continue to do this? You need to discuss it, if it bothers you.

When you marry, you need to know the weaknesses of the other person, because we all have them...and we all may not change....so can you live with hers?...and can she live with yours? It is important to reveal them to each other...not try to hide them.....

There also may be a reason why she buys so many pairs....may have something to do with how little she had earlier in her life. Might be good for you to find out...she probably already knows it is pretty excessive....so why don't you try to find out.

I used to tease my wife about the size of her shoe collection, similar in size you describe. I also used to make fun of her for her Precious Moments Collection. I felt a little smug knowing that I would never spend money so foolishly. Then I looked in my gun safe at the size of MY collection.

Everyone needs a hobby; if you are financially able to afford a few purse and shoes; why not?

I bet you have golf clubs, guns, boat or something like that. Unless she is spending the rent money let her be happy.

Hey~if that's/those are her "addictions", count your blessings!! That's all I gotta say! It's once she's not buying that many and the money's still being spent on those is when you should worry!!!! if it's not something that's cutting into your finances of your future together (ie: buying a house or family planning, etc), then just be glad she's normal and marry the girl knowing that that's all you gotta worry about~when you're gonna have to have the talk when it comes to having to cut back on them!!! LOL
Good luck and many bleesings for your happiness!

Not really, it depends on her/your lifestyles. Is she so poor she can't pay for electric, but still manages to get the newest gucci's? Or doesn she have some extra money that she goes and looks for a nice pair or shoes at payless? That's alot of shoes, but definently not the largest amount. My teacher has over 300 on a teachers salary!

Yes, that's WAY too much for someone who's only 28...I'd say 30pairs of shoes and 10 purses is the limit (half of what she's got!) But if she can afford it, then that's no problem.

No....I have well over 150 pairs of designer heels alone, not including the rest of my shoes. And like 40 purses probably. For some people they will say it is too much, but it is just personal preferance. To me, it's worth it because fashion is important to me. I can afford it though, if she is putting herself in debt then that is not so good but if she can more power to her.

It seems a little excessive. However, I am on the other side of the balance. I have three pairs of shoes (one black, one brown, one athletic) and my purse is the diaper bag.

Completely normal! I have a room for my shoes and purses. She cares about how she looks. You should be proud!
