It sounds true but it's not since the second part of the sentence contradicts the first part.
If you're still alive, how come you have nothing to offer since you still have your life to offer.
Even if you're not alive, but dead, you might still have to offer your many organs for transplant and save a lot of lives.
A man who is dead and seems to have nothing to offer can still offer his organs...
