Pain reliever will help the pain, but it will take a few days to get the taste buds to heal.
Avoid putting anything warm in your mouth until it heals. Don't drink warm liquids until it does.
Rinse your mouth with cold water as many times a day that you can.
If the skin on your tongue came off then you need to seek a medical professional.

sounds like you've got a pretty nasty burn on your tongue, at least 2nd degree. Believe it or not, mouthwash should help, with or w/o alcohol in it because the menthol in it relieves pain from burns and the alcohol can keep it from getting bacterial infections. or take 2-3 ibeproufen.
