11377a hs--meth, acid, etc, charge is a wobbler. Can be Misdemeanor of Felony. Both charges eligible for prop. 36, which is a treatment program up to three times. After that, as Misdemeanor, up to one year in county jail, as felony, up to three years state prison, or up to 1 year in county jail.
11350 hs--heroin or cocaine--Felony, eligible for prop. 36 see above, up to three years in state prison.
Can be more for possession for sales, etc. Simple possession is for coke, meth, etc, is small amounts. More then a normal single user about and how it is packaged, can lead to a possession for sales.

A cop or judge in California. Don't tell them what you have, just show the drugs to the cop or judge.
Seriously tho, there are many factors in that, previous records, how much, what drug etc. i would say 1 month to several yrs. read the drug laws in your state.
