I don't know if there were any who spoke in other languages too. I think there were. It was on tv a good while ago...then on Jay Leno rerun tonight. Do you think they could have gotten possessed? (Just an idea...don't diss me!!)

I could understand if they had slurred speech..or stuttered etc....but this is DIFFERENT ACCENTS!! That is WEIRD!! I saw them on tv a few months ago. They weren't pretending. It was very strange. I think some even spoke foreign languages. That's not just a "brain quirk".

(and it's not the kind like in my other question)It's really the language. Hopefully they understand what they're saying.(or maybe they need an interpretor for themselves)??
pd...I just go my new comp. hooked up (It's an "e machines"..but the monitor says "acer")It's SO BEAUTIFUL!!. So now I can sit right here DAY & NIGHT and talk to you . lol Hay..Don't run away!!

Actually, it is a brain quirk. This has happened on more than one occasion. The brain suffers some sort of trauma and the person speaks with a different accent than they had before the trauma. Note it's not the accent, but an approximation of it. That means the person is subconsciously *trying* to imitate the accent. For example (read article), someone who comes down with this "foreign accent syndrome" may speak with a French accent, but is not able to speak French. Were they possessed surely the spirit would know French, no?

Like Leana said, it affects the way the brain makes the mouth move. Even more amazing though - are reports of people waking up not only with a foreign accent, but speaking an entire different language all together. Fluently even. SO strange.
Anyway... I heard it on an episode of a podcast I listen to called Mysterious Universe. EXCELLENT program.

Well so what if its on tv? Alot of really convincing people get on tv that are frauds. Also the person could have talked like that becuse of the operation I mean it is A BRAIN operation your talking about right? I highly doubt they were possesed BUT they couldve been rembering a past life.

Read the tenth or ninth answer since its surgery the person might become more "intunde" with their subconcinse and remeber there old lanuage but no details about a past life.

I definitely believe that if someone spoke in another language seeking the almighty God then yes they have just received the Holy Ghost.
If they speak and no one interprets, then they will know what is said..............or it is so intimate that they can't say but the one for which it was said will know.
Another is that people can receive the gift of tongues, to speak in more than one language.
They probably became closer in their relationship to God and because of the TV station was not allowed to say it as such.

Its an actual condition though rare it's called Foreign Accent Syndrome. This is caused when a certain part of the brain is injured and causes speeches changes such as timing, intonation and placement of the tongue.

What about regressing into a past life? i agree the brain is very powerful, but i don't think it's going to change to a language you've never known before. i think that's "a scientific explanation".
