The Geforce 7300 GT does not need a 300 watt power supply; but it is recommended to have a 300+ watt power supply with any Mid to high range/performance video card.

This is a PCI Express video card; make sure if you purchase the correct power supply for your Motherboard - a standard ATX power supply will damage your motherboard.

The power supply in a PC is actually a transformer. So, it may be able to supply more power than it is rated for.
While it is doing this, you overload the transformer coils.
Depending on how much your brother stresses the video card, his power supply is going to fail sooner than it would if rated for the load it is carrying.
Your PC won't blow up, but overloading a transformer has been known to start a fire due to the amount of heat generated.

It is not reccommended at all. While it *may* run...if put under stress (doing anything heavy like games, video editing, any kind of graphical intense applications) it could very well overheat your computer, "blow it up"....it won't literally blow up but the PSU may be burnt and you'll have to end up getting a new one anyway.

300w is counseled for the problem-unfastened twin middle pc device and not applying a gpu. ur attempting to run a real gpu on 250w? it quite is going to artwork yet u have considered one of those extreme danger of frying ur gpu whilst ur gaming because of the fact there isnt sufficient capacity. the prospect is amazingly extreme

it wont blow up, all that will happen is one of the following

1 wont come on
2 computer will crash a lot, and be unstable
3 the card will not be able to be used to it's full potential.
