I have a 50 gallon tank I am about to setup, I also have a 5 gallon with guppies that are growing and need a bigger tank. I am getting a filter, I have a heater, gravel and plants.

In terms of water conditions, what should I use?

All you would be required to use is a water conditioner to remove chlorine or chloramine, depending on which is used by your water provider if you're on a public utility: http://www.thetropicaltank.co.uk/chlor.htm

If you aren't planning to use the 5 gallon any longer, I'd also transfer the gravel and filter over, so it will add the bacteria to cycle the tank: http://www.fishlore.com/NitrogenCycle.htm - page down to the actual article

Another thing you might try if you aren't doing this aready is to add a little salt to their tank. This can be aquarium salt (expensive), or kosher, pickling, canning, rock, or non-iodized table salt (cheaper, but the same thing). Add 1 tablespoon per 5 gallons of volume. Guppies (and other livebearers) actually do a little better in slightly brackish water, which I hadn't heard of until a breeder mentioned this. The salt will also help protect your fish if nitrites build up in the tank if you put the fish in before it's fully cycled: http://freshaquarium.about.com/cs/disease/p/nitritepoison.htm , http://www.skepticalaquarist.com/docs/health/salt.shtml

Beyond these, there shouldn't be anything you need to add.

Yuo should get some Salt for salt water aquairums and cut the recomended amount by 3ths to half. You see Livebears come from rivers and estuaries that are slightly braskish so this is the best water for them.CAUTION: cute like Amazon fish HATE this water so it will be a find finding fish to keep with them.
