I was watching something about the the brothers wen they were kids and apparently they had a wall in the basement that they used to write stuff on and their family thought that was were Wonderwall came from but who knows really Noel always seem to have a different story about each song
I think they do it to piss off the media =)

Gallagher [writer] now claims that the song was not about Mathews [his then girlfriend] at all, but he felt he had to go along with the rumour, saying "The meaning of that song was taken away from me by the media who jumped on it. The title was obviously inspired by the name of a solo album George Harrison did in the late 1960s. This group has long claimed to be Beatles fans and some of their critics say that all this group does is copy them.
