I see it as an unfortuante, tragic, FREAK occurance. But I feel like the media always has to make a tragic story like this into something FAR bigger. What do you think?

I think a young man died because of the Zoo's neglect, I think an endangered species was killed because of the Zoo's neglect. Overblown no way. Some dip stars sisters pregnancy is over blown.

Frankly, an incident like this is so rare and so dramatic that the media can't resist it.
Also, it gives people a chance to reflect on their values and priorities.
And of course it gives people a chance to say dumb things; but that is part of the discussion, isn't it?

I think that it's a slow news season right now so this is the biggest story they have and they have to make the best of the material they have right now.
